It's enjoyable but no better than average-at best. Quickly made, a relatively bad old print and a threadbare story. What are they to do to be niceness and justice to the modern range? Overall, it's exactly what a fan of these films should expect.

However, after using the Mesquiteers to sell the idea to the town, the trio learn that the project is a shame. The folks are naturally mad, but they are assured that they will be relocated to much better land-land that is fertile and with plenty of water. That's because a dam is going to be built to flood the valley. However, it's also a reasonably dull plot. The plot is very different-which is a plus. What's amazing is that Jones did these sort of roles for such a short period and was soon making A-pictures-culminating with her receiving an Oscar for Best Actress for 'The Song of Bernadette' only four years later. She's pretty bland here-but this sort of role is almost always bland and forgettable. Here she plays the usual not too romantic female lead who falls, kind of, the the leader of the Mesquiteers. One standout thing about this otherwise ordinary film is the presence of Jennifer Jones. It's very surreal to see cowboys riding about on horses one minute and the next seeing modern construction machinery! It's one of those weird things you just have to accept in films with Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and the Mesquiteers. Like many of the B-westerns of the day, this one actually is set in the modern day. As for the middle guy, Ray Corrigan was on hand for this. And, while the bizarre duo of Max Terhune and his dummy (literally a ventriloquist's dummy) are not in this one, the very familiar Raymond Hatton plays the third Mesquiteer. In 'New Frontier', you may be surprised to see John Wayne in the lead, though he played the leader of this group for eight movies. While the most popular trio probably was the one that consisted of Robert Livingston, Ray Corrigan and Max Terhune, many other guys were members of this movie gang.

This was a very popular series from the 1930s and 40s and while they were generally pretty well made and enjoyable, the composition of the cast changed frequently. This is a Three Mesquiteer movie from Republic Pictures. Or, in the case of filmgoers, you go see another movie.Reviewed by MartinHafer 4 / 10 Aside from being Jennifer Jones' debut, there isn't a lot to distinguish this film. вЂњYou either get down, or lay down,вЂќ Beans warns his enemies. ItвЂ™s not clever enough to make up for a weak story line, and the performers arenвЂ™t seasoned enough to carry a one-trick movie. вЂњState Property 2вЂќ is not a good movie, by any means. Tired of his antics and worried about how she and their daughter will fend for themselves, she berates him for getting caught and leaving them. The one true moment that stands out is the reaction of BeansвЂ™ wife when he calls from jail. (There also are cameos by Chicago native Kanye West, Angie Martinez and Roselyn Sanchez.) In a brief cameo as a pushy girlfriend, the songbird is better than she was in вЂњGlitterвЂќ - but thatвЂ™s not saying much.

(Ironically, Sigel in real life is serving time on a federal gun charge.)ДЄnd then thereвЂ™s Mariah Carey. ComingвЂќ - as Beans has the thankless role of a drug lord who believes everything can be solved with a quick whack to the head or a couple of bullets through the heart. Sigel - who showed so much talent with his best-selling album вЂњThe B. Multitasking Damon Dash, who co-wrote and directed this film, has a co-starring role as BeansвЂ™ nemesis, Dame. After the sixth massacre, the viewer becomes hardened to whatвЂ™s happening on screen. Subtle isnвЂ™t a word youвЂ™d use to describe вЂњState Property 2.вЂќ From its choice of language (the f-word being particularly popular) to the actorsвЂ™ deliveries to the violence-for-the-sake-of-violence mode of directing, this film is over the top - and not in a good way.

вЂњHad a partyвЂќ translates into вЂњtook a loss.вЂќ YouвЂ™d think the guard would catch on as the pair talk on and on about вЂњsurprise partiesвЂќ but, like the movie, heвЂ™s just too dumb to figure it out. When one of his childhood pals comes to visit, the two speak in jailhouse code. HeвЂ™s running his drug enterprise from jail, relying on his incompetent colleagues to take care of business on the outside. The film picks up where the first film left off, with Beans (rapper Beanie Sigel) serving hard time in a penitentiary for attempted murder. Like a greasy burger, this shoot-вЂ™em-up is kinda gross - and leaves you wishing you hadnвЂ™t вЂњgone there.вЂќ As a nose-picking hamburger flipper, ODB sets the low standard for this sequel to 2002вЂ™s вЂњState Property.вЂќ вЂњState Property 2вЂќ offers the last performance by OlвЂ™ Dirty Bastard before his unfortunate death last year.
